Columbia is the geographic center of South Carolina, with easy access to mountains (two hours west) and nationally recognized beach resorts (two hours east). Columbia boasts a nationally acclaimed library system, highly rated schools, and many outstanding golf courses. Big time college sports abound with two major schools - the University of South Carolina, Columbia, in the Southeastern Conference and Clemson University, Clemson, Atlantic Coast Conference (two hours away). The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Telehealth works under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and reports to the Facility Telehealth Coordinator. Primary responsibilities of the incumbent includes: Performs telehealth imaging, including tele-retinal screening, tele-dermatology and tele-wound care. Initiates consultations for patients on behalf of the primary care provider. Documents all clinical information in the electronic medical record/CPRS. May perform auxiliary testing such as test such things as visual acuity, papillary function assessment by penlight, and penlight estimation of anterior chamber angle depth. Assist the Care manager with the patient's clinical reminders related to the imaging process and take necessary action based on the reader's recommendation. Orients the patient, staff and/or provider to the environment, room, equipment and process, and answers questions while providing instruction and assistance. Administers medication accurately and promptly under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs treatments according to established policies/procedures. Observes for physical and/or emotional changes in patient's condition from prescribed medication/treatments, promptly and accurately documenting noted changes. Completing other duties as assigned.
