You Will Be Responsible For:
Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription. Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to produce photographic or computer images. Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures. Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of physician. Produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician. Process cardiac function studies, using computer. Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety procedures. Record and process results of procedures. Performs, properly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy. Adapts procedure to each patient’s medical situation obtaining all available necessary information for proper interpretation. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology. Calculates information accurately. Follows through with all details to ensure a smooth and timely flow of procedures.
What You Will Need:
High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Graduate of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program
Must be certified as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures: Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under direction of physician.
