Cardiac Sonographer-VCMG - Eagle Oaks Specialty Center - Per Diem
SUMMARY: This position is accountable for accurately, safely and efficiently performing routine congenital and pediatric echocardiographic procedures with competency including assisting in transesophageal, epicardial and intracardiac echocardiographic procedures in outpatient clinic environment. Assists the Cardiologist as required. Generates and prepares a draft echocardiogram report using the archiving and report writing software. Works under the direction of the clinic manager. Participates in the rotation of on-call duties and outreach clinic involvement. Performs EKGs, Holter and multi-event applications
JOB REQUIREMENTS: College Degree - 2 year Echocardiography/Ultrasonography Or Accredited Echocardiography/Ultrasonography Technical/Vocational Training required. RDCS-PE - ARDMS Pediatric Echocardiography Or RDCS-PE - ARDMS Pediatric Echocardiography with successful completion of a formal pediatric/congenital echocardiography externship program within 18 months of hire or transfer into position required. RDCS-AE - ARDMS Adult Echocardiography RDCS-FE - ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography preferred. BLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer into position required. Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac embryology, congenital heart defects, cardiac hemodynamics and palliative/corrective congenital heart surgical procedures. Skill to instruct, train and educate health providers in the assessment of congenital heart disease. Bilingual skills preferred.
