The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is recruiting for an Otolaryngologist. This position is at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. We are one of the nation's largest VA systems. Residents of Florida do not pay personal state income tax. Florida has great beaches, universities, and amusement sites. Seeking an American Board of Otolaryngology- board certified or board eligible trained surgical Otolaryngologist. Must have an active state medical license to apply. Independently see Otolaryngology patients in our modern clinic and perform in-office procedures such as fiberoptic laryngoscopy, sinus debridement's, biopsies, and more. Perform a broad spectrum of Otolaryngology surgeries, both simple and complex: Head and neck, endocrine, sinus surgery, salivary gland, and ear surgery. Supervise Otolaryngology residents in all settings including clinic, inpatient/ER consults, and the operating room. Supervise one ENT PA and one ENT ARNP in clinic. The position includes clinical and teaching components. Demonstrated interest in academic teaching is preferable. Candidates will teach Otolaryngology residents on the VA rotation, who are based out of the University of Florida. The position offers excellent opportunities for rewarding interactions with an outstanding house staff, clinical support staff, and faculty. The surgeon will have access to and use modern equipment such as distal chip fiberoptic laryngoscopes, 4K endoscopic towers, high-end ultrasound machines in clinic, updated sinus surgery trays, sialoendoscopy OR trays and equipment, image-guided sinus surgery capabilities, and more. The surgeon will be employed as a full-time VA surgeon. Tour of Duty: Full-Time; Mon-Fri; Compressed tour, four-day work week, generally 7 am to 5:30 pm. (Physicians are responsible for on-call duties as assigned, in rotation, and to comply with procedures regarding on-call responsibilities.) Participate in 1:3 call coverage for NF/SGVHS.
