Novant Health Pediatric Cardiology is comprised of 4 pediatric cardiologists providing cardiac services for patients from the antenatal period to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease, as well as adult congenital heart disease patients. Located in Winston Salem, NC, Novant Health Pediatric Cardiology provides services for patients in the Winston Salem region. In addition to satellite ambulatory clinics, acute cardiac services are provided at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department.

Education: Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: 1.Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) 2.OR Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE or RCS) AND minimum experience of 1 year within an Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) Accredited Facility and registry eligible in pediatric echo 3.Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire date
Additional skills required: Responsible for obtaining transthoracic echocardiograms including real time, pulsed Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, color Doppler in the pediatric population. Compiles data required by the pediatric cardiologist on all studies. Responsible for doing all other duties that may be assigned at the discretion of the manager and/or the Medical Director in addition to proper billing of the procedures and prioritizing patient scheduling.
