Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment and chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services. Convey a positive image of the clinic.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the vitalization of patients during Cardiology clinic.
Accountable of patient's updated medical history and medications are entered in the EMR system.
Have excellent physical assessment skills and documentation skills
Performs treadmill stress tests and EKG tests, have knowledge of EKG interpretation, document abnormal changes, report to physician, be able to provide First Aid if needed
Be able schedule appointments when necessary
Be able to submit patient charges
Assist with performing Stress Echo exams
Have the skills to perform IV insertions
Assist patient with Home Monitoring
Be able to issue sample medications, document, and log samples issued
Be familiar with clinic environment and processes
Have the ability to educate patients
Answer calls and assist patient with any questions
Make sure all progress notes, and all necessary paperwork are in patients medical files
Perform teaching information to all patients as necessary
Has knowledge of all medical information and patient medical history for all patients
Assist with the evaluation of the patient's pharmacological needs, nutritional status, laboratory values, and relay such information to physician
Identifying medications, their interactions and contraindications.
Initiate and maintain appropriate course of action during potentially life threatening events
Initiate CPR when indicated
Facilitate "Code" notification procedure for hospital
Coordinate medicalintervention with appropriate consulting services under the direction and supervision of physician
Communicate with physician in writing or in oral form as indicated Ithe clinical assistant criteria
Provide thorough and accurate patient status reports
Document patient's progress in the chart progress notes
